Our Planet Week 2026

In April 2026 I took part in Our Planet Week, an illustration challenge to respond to different nature-themed prompts.
My first response was to 'Forests Growing' — inspired by a beautiful tree in my local park that's a lovely home to lots of creatures.
For 'Rivers Flowing' I illustrated a beaver. They're so important for the ecosystem, I think it's wonderful that they're being reintroduced to the wild in the UK (and they're also really fun to illustrate!).
My response to 'Wind Blowing' was a bird soaring above the fields, inspired by my rural home growing up in the West Midlands.
I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, especially getting to experiment with animal illustration, digital textures and being able to push myself to keep a consistent colour palette throughout all 3 images.
