Wildlife Trusts campaign

This is a self-initiated passion project, using the Wildlife Trusts as an imaginary client. For the InkyGoodness Portfolio Boost challenge, I decided to create an imaginary campaign for the Wildlife Trusts, with the aim of spreading awareness of endangered UK wildlife with the target audience being young children. This project was inspired by my love for animals and nature.
I researched many different endangered UK animals; the face of my campaign concept is the Natterjack Toad, a rare toad species who now only live in a few coastal locations. I did lots of experimentation, trying out lots of different illustration styles, before settling on clean, digital vectors. I felt this style worked well for young children as well as older audiences, and fitted the Wildlife Trusts brand.
After I was happy with the Natterjack Toad illustration, I created more illustrations in the same style for other endangered UK species, including the White-clawed crayfish, Great yellow bumblebee and Greater mouse-eared bat. From these animal mascots I created social media post designs, as well as merchandise concepts including badges and t-shirts.
Although I haven't pitched this project to Wildlife Trusts, I greatly enjoyed working on this project, improving my illustration skills and confidence to create a larger illustrative project. I would love to work on a project similar to this in the future.
