Access is a website concept celebrating digital accessibility, designed for my final major project following my dissertation exploring how to assist users with colour vision deficiency and dyslexia in UI design.
I designed a dyslexia-friendly adaptation of Helvetica, tested with dyslexic users to validate it, plus the site's visual identity, an accessibility overlay for customisable colours and typefaces, and a full UX process from user research through to final UI.
This project was a great learning opportunity for me and I enjoyed exploring accessibility in a creative way, combining technical knowledge with beautiful design. I have been continuing to improve on my accessibility knowledge since, and what I discovered in this project served as a great foundation.
