St Andrew's Care Home

St Andrew's Residential Care Home in Oxford contacted me to create a new website for them. We started the project by assessing the issues with their existing website.

Their old website wasn't functioning very well due to an outdated website builder; the navigation was broken and the design and photographs were outdated. I experimented in Figma to create a more modern design while keeping their traditional feel, and we had a few feedback sessions to decide on a look they were happy with. We swapped out their cream background colour for an off-white, improving legibility and giving a more modern look, with a great contrast to their brand dark blue colour.

Next, I created the website in WordPress. We discussed the website design in great detail and asked the team for their feedback and any suggested amendments. I also spoke to people in the target audience to test the navigation, and decided to add arrows to indicate scrolling, a contents section at the top of large pages, and larger buttons and text, from the feedback I was given.

Lastly, I took new photographs for the website, showing the facilities, catering, staff and events in a warm, welcoming light. Since developing their website, I have attended and photographed many of their events to regularly update the website.
